Photo Friday

For Photo Friday this week, I thought I would share a little from the heart.

Lately, things have been a little off kilter in our life. Not the kind of earth shattering, things are falling apart, just small little shifts. Job duties have changed for me, Brian has been traveling for work. Unexpected events and bills have crept in. At times these past few weeks I feel like life has snowballed, taking my well laid out plans and intentions with it, rolling down the mountain in one big tangled mess. And as I write this, I can not place my finger on any one thing that causes my uneasiness, which in turn makes it more puzzling.

My refuge this week has been my camera. Picking it up, things are clear. It’s simple really. It comes down to light. Restricting it, finding it, seeing it. With the camera to my eye it’s impossible to focus on the negative. I am forced to look for beauty in unexpected places. To search for the good when my heart is uneasy. To take my time to really look and understand a scene.

Feeling the shutter button under my finger this week has been more than just a hobby, it has been an affirmation of my love and passion for the way I see the world through the lens.

It is a beautiful world. Thank you for inviting me into your homes, to your wedding days, and into your lives to capture it. I am truly blessed.
