Photo Friday

Good Friday morning to you!

Here is the latest installment of Photo Friday, where I recap the week's pictures that I took. I'm getting ready to head off to the dentist in a few hours to get my wisdom teeth out - so I will really find out today if they make me wiser or not (insert laugh here). To my clients and friends, I will be unable to respond to your emails and phone calls this weekend, but promise to get back to you as soon as I can on Monday. Thanks for your patience!

Without further ado, the photos. If you would like to see any of them larger, just click on the photo and you'll be directed to my flickr page for larger viewing.

After shooting a wedding on Saturday, I was out taking one last shot of the reception venue, when my husband tried to run me over... all in good fun of course :) It was a nice rainy January day

This one wasn't around when I was a kid! (side note, the bowl is not this full anymore!)

So I finally figured out the ol' "turn your 50mm lens around and it becomes a macro" trick. Pretty nifty! So, in lay-mans terms that means I turned my lens around (so the back was pointing out), and took a picture without connecting it to my camera.

I was given this pie today by a co-worker... oh my was it delicious! Brian and I ended up eating half of it!

Happy iPad Release Day! Brian has been so excited for today, that I thought a photo of our first Mac, our baby Mac if you will, was appropriate.

with my wisdom teeth coming out on Friday, I am getting a little nervous - it reminded me of Brian's pop-up book of Phobias... and lookey here, a page for the dentist! (and yes, the Pop-up Book of Phobias is real! Along with the Pop-up Book of Nightmares, you can have one great bedtime story collection!)

This is my first attempt at taking a picture of the moon. I'll need to do a little more research on best technique, as the more I look at it, it seems like a burning ball of fire in the bushes! Anyway, the moon was beautiful this morning.

Have a great weekend!

Photo Friday

Happy Friday! It's already Friday night here, so I've already got in a glass of wine and a good supper. I love Fridays. I am especially excited today because of the awesome wedding of Andy and Sharon tomorrow - it is going to rock! Who would have thought that we would have to worry about rain in January? Hmm... even better yet, who would have thought we'd have to use our indoor plan for extremely cold weather because it's RAINING! Wow, Wisconsin weather never ceases to amaze me :)

Here is my weekly update from my 365 project. For those of you just joining us, I am taking one picture per day for all of 2010, and updating the blog weekly. So, here goes!

Mother nature left a dusting of frost over everything this weekend, and it really was beautiful! I learned later that this type of frost is called hoar frost. The more you know!

This is the pier at the Tenney Park Locks - I'd like to say I overexposed the sky, but it was really that grey and ominous. You can see the other shore line faintly in the distance.

I finally got to take Edie for a walk today! The poor pooch hasn't been out on a stroll for a few weeks... I took a bunch of other nature pics on our walk, but liked in this one her shadow was larger than her 7 pound self!

I was inadvertently part of a protest after taking this pic... this is why I love going downtown... you never know what you're going to find

I have a wedding this weekend and really wanted to practice some more with off-camera lighting. If you need a chuckle, just think of me running back and forth between the couch and the camera, and waiting for the self timer to go off! Ta da! :)

who picked this puzzle? we started a new puzzle this week, only to discover there are way too many pieces that look way too much alike! With our rousing activity choices, we should be ready for the retirement home in about 5 years :)

Kris & Jason are Engaged!

I met Kris and Jason on a blustery cold winter day inside the State Capitol. Although we did brave the cold for a few outside near the end, we were all glad that at their wedding this coming September it won't be anywhere near this cold! The second we starting shooting Kris and Jason informed us that they loved teasing each other and couldn't be serious for too long - our kind of couple! Brian and I had a great time getting to know them during our shoot together, enjoy a few of my favorites!

When I last left off, we were just getting ready to celebrate with Tiffany & Joe. So let's get rollin'

The DJ had some pretty neat lights, so I decided to turn the flash off and use a little ambient lighting.

Instead of using the new fad of a "candy bar", these two made a "popcorn bar", compete with popcorn from the Boy's Boy Scout Troops. It was a hit!

Tiffany, Joe, and family - thank you so much for inviting us to capture your wedding - we had a blast getting to know your boys! Hope you're enjoying Mexico! :)
