Mr. & Mrs. Bondehagen!

Karen & Erik were married at a beautiful, small reception on May 9th, 2009. With about 25 people in attendance, it was a simple, sweet ceremony.

Details:

Ceremony: Rockdale Lutheran Church Cambridge
Reception: Coachman's Golf Resort Edgerton

What was great about having a small wedding is that everyone was there when it was time to start. Everyone just decided to have a seat to get started! Karen looked beautiful, as you can tell from Erik's face seeing her for the first time!

The church was small, but beautiful. These stained glass windows were amazing!

The groom, his best man, and the usher all had these great combo sneaker/dress shoes! The guys loved them because they were so comfy, I had never seen anything like them!

There reception was at the beautiful Coachman's Golf Resort in Edgerton. Located on a golf course, it was perfect for their reception! I loved their black & white theme, and the cake matched! The Cake is from Carl's Cakes in Madison.

Our adventures at the Dog Park...

When we got Edie, our 6.8 pound Yorkie last year we vowed we wouldn't be one of the "those people". After all, I spent most of my childhood terrified of dogs. I used to go over to my friend Erin's house and we would have to stay locked in her room all day because I was scared of her dog coming within 10 feet of me. So naturally we thought we wouldn't be the dog-park-going, day-care-taking, all-natural-treat type of dog owners. But then the little peanut looks at you with those small but big brown eyes, and well, we can't say no!

Hence our latest adventure, the dog park. It is rare to see a dog as small as Edie there, but when she gets out in the open and is running around chasing birds, and following smells, she looks like she's in little doggie heaven.
And after all the episodes of the Dog Whisper that we've watched, we know she wasn't made to be indoors sitting on fluffy pillows all day! Plus, with all of her little steps she takes while we're there we get a pooped out dog for about two days with just one trip! Talk about value : )

So, we are officially "those people" now, and we have a happier dog for it! Check out some photos I grabbed with my new telephoto lens a few weeks back. And if you're in the Verona dog park sometime, look for the dog that looks like a small rodent, and you'll most likely find me : )

Edie on the loose!

Run, run as fast as you can!

The Dog Park also has beautiful scenery. I couldn't help but stop and take a few photos. Plus it was kind of cute, Edie would stop, wait for me, and then go again when I walked forward. Oh the waiting involved in being a photographer's dog!

Jayda is 2!

Jayda 10

I met this little cutie at her home for her two year old pictures! We started out by playing with some bubbles in the driveway, how fun!

For these next few, I wish my camera was able to record sound so you could hear Jayda's adorable little laugh. She loves the swing, and her daddy makes it fun as well!

A Little Reflection Time...

A few weekends ago, I went on a mini retreat with our Lifegroup girls (don't worry the men stayed home and cooked out wild game meat and made marshmellow guns... so they were more than taken care of!), and we went to a little cabin on Lake Wisconsin. It was so relaxing to get away, turn off the cell phone, and not be connected to a computer for 24 hours. It rained all weekend, so we were forced to sit inside and chit chat about life, which was a-ok with us! When the rain let up to a sprinkle I was just dying to get outside to grab some photos of the scenery. The kids of the owner of the cabin had this little "fort" set up outside with these great old chairs. I usually don't edit my photos to this extreme, but liked the feel it gave them. Here are a few of my favorites:
