Photo Friday!

Yay! We made it to Friday. I don't know about you all out there, but I could get used to a four day work week! It has just zoomed by!

I *finally* got back on track with my 365 Project. My goal is simple, to take one picture a day for a year. Here are my photos from last week:

5.29.10
Brat Fest
A photo of my contribution to the record breaking Brat Fest on Saturday.

5.30.10
Scenic Overlook - Spring Green
Brian and I took a drive to Spring Green , and stopped a scenic overlook. Although it wasn't very scenic, and we couldn't really see anything, the bridge to get there was cool!

5.31.10
Olbrich Botanical Gardens
On Monday, Brian and I took a walk around the Olbrich Botanical Gardens.

6.1.10
Amy & Anthony + baby
A little sneak peek of my session with friends Amy and Anthony who are expecting any day now!

6.2.10
Golf Outing
I spent my day at a golf outing for our agents.

There you have it! Hope you all have a great weekend!

I still have 2 Wedding Planner and Guide tickets available for next Wednesday - if you know of anyone who'd like them, give me a shout!

Photo Friday

Hidy ho! We made it to Friday! :)

Today's blog post is a feature of the photos I'm taking for my 365 project. The idea is to take one photo every day for a year. And although a simple idea, as I found out this week, it's hard in practice. So, I'll make up in quality that which I lack in quantity!

So, there you have it!

Have a good weekend everyone!

Photo Friday! 365 Photo Project

TGIF! What a week it's been here in the Van Wyk household! I'm so glad it's Friday. I'm looking forward to hanging out with three amazing couples this weekend for their engagement sessions - it should be a blast!

My goal for the year is to take one photo a day, and although I've been rusty the past two weeks, I came back at it full swing! Without further ado, the photos!

Photo Friday!

I'm happy to report that I did much better this week at taking a photo every day than last. For those of you just joining us, my goal is to take one photo a day for a year - and here are my photos from last week.

I hope you all have a great Easter weekend! I can't wait to have Peeps and Cadbury Cream Eggs for breakfast on Sunday :)

Photo Friday! 365 Photo Project

3.23.10

Between the laundry, unpacking, vacation photo uploading, and catching up over this past week, I have been terrible at my take a photo a day project! In fact, this is the only photo I've taken since Sunday! We grilled out on Tuesday night when the highs were in the mid 60's, and Edie was out in the yard soaking up some sun.

So, I start new today and promise to get back on track next week!

Since I've got you here, I also wanted to remind everyone that my sessions are filling up quickly! Right now I have one spot left in May, and then am booking into June! Here are my available spots as of today:

Tuesday, May 11th - 6pm
Tuesday, June 22nd - 6pm
Sunday, June 27th - 9am
Thursday, July 15th - 6pm
Sunday, August 8th - 4pm (Waupaca, WI Area Only)
Tuesday, August 24th - 6pm
Sunday, August 29th - 4pm (Sheboygan, WI Area Only)
Thursday, September 9th - 6pm
Tuesday, September 14th - 6pm
Tuesday, September 28th - 6pm

I am planning a special Christmas Card Photo Extravaganza Event in October, so stay tuned :)

Have a good weekend everyone!

Photo Friday! 365 Photo Project

Well, it's finally here, the Friday Brian and I are headed down to Chicago to catch our flight to Mexico on Saturday. But before I leave on a jet plane, I thought I'd share with you the latest of my 365 project, where I take one photo a day for a year.

This weeks' photos definitely have a weather theme, with temperatures in the 50's and the snow melting more and more each day it's been the topic of conversation among us Wisconsinites. Plus Brian introduced me to the phrase "it looks like pea soup"... which is supposed to mean it's foggy out I guess?! If that's true, than there has been a whole lotta pea soup this week.

These are our toothbrushes. If you follow me on Facebook, you'll know that Brian and I were sharing the same tooth brush without knowing it for about 2 months. Well, when we found out, we wanted to start using new ones, except the only two we had in the drawer were both blue. Mine now has a hair tie on it to distinguish it as mine (not seen in the photo though)

Photo Friday! 365 Photo Project

Here we are once again finding ourselves at Friday. Funny how that happens huh?

Brian and I are getting really antsy as we are leaving for Mexico next Friday. Just one more week until nice warm temps and sandy beaches.... ahhh. I wish I could pack you all in my suitcase, but I'm afraid it already gets the heavy sticker without extra humans inside :)

Anyhoo, here's what I've been up to the past week:

2.27.10
2.27.10
I met Gina & Luke at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake for their engagement session. Their wedding will be there this summer, and it was so exciting to see and hear about their wedding plans! They warned me that they were not photogenic, but you'll have to see what you think!

2.28.10
2.28.10
For those of you who didn't grow up in the Sheboygan area, let me introduce you to Hard Rolls. These are necessary at any grill out one might have, as Brian's parents did in Sheboygan Falls this Sunday. They are really good for your burgers, but supposedly these are to be used for your brats as well. This really confuses a non-Sheboyganite like myself, and I always wonder where the hot dog buns are....

3.1.10
3.1.10
To be honest, this is the first official day I completely forgot about taking a picture. It was one of those things that I didn't realize until Tuesday morning. But luckily, I did update facebook with this iPhone pic, saying I don't know who likes Mondays less, Brian or Edie!

3.2.10
3.2.10
Since our vacation is coming up, I really would like to get a handle on the Canon 5D Mark II's video function. Since my dog is my most loyal and handy subject I was trying it out on her. I took this picture while shooting video. Technology is so cool.

Here's my little video I made, all put together. Thanks in advance for indulging me in my obsession with photographing my dog!

The weather was in the upper 30's tonight, so warm that we just had to take a walk. I found this little bird house on the way.

Photo Friday on Saturday!

Ok, so I admit I'm not the best on posting on Fridays! But at least I did better than last week, and got this blog post up on Saturday instead of Sunday. Below you will find my photos of the day from this past week. Since the Valentine's holiday has past, I have dropped my "things that I love" theme, although I could probably twist the captions to reflect so.

But I will spare you the agony.

I'm nice like that ;)

Without further ado, the photos!

2.13.10

This is the lobby of my church, Blackhawk. I took this during our monthly photo group meeting. It is a rare sight to see the atrium so empty, I'm used to the hustle and bustle of Sundays!

Photo Friday - er I mean Sunday!

So life got a little bit away from me this week, and with all the distraction and excitement of the Olympics, I forgot to update the blog world on my 365 project - so without further delay, here are the photos!

2.6.10
UW Arboretum - 2.6.10
After an engagement shoot at the UW Arboretum, one of my favorite Madison shooting locations, Brian and I spent some extra time and took a few more pictures. What is always surprising to me is how different this location looks in every season!

2.7.10
2.7.10
Since my theme for February is things that I love, it would not be complete with out these three people. They are our lifegroup leaders and their son, and they are such great mentors and friends in our lives. This was taken at our Super Bowl Party, where I made everyone take a pic in my "photo booth". Thanks for humoring me guys!

I don't particularly "love" shoveling, but I do love the camaraderie it brings to our neighborhood. We always end up talking to and meeting more and more of our neighbors every time we are out.

2.10.10
2.10.10
I got a new camera on this day, and so I took a few of my very first DSLR. I was reflecting back at how awesome I thought that camera was, just two years ago, before I knew anything about manual mode, lenses, ISO, aperture, or even how to run a business. Getting a new professional level camera has really made me realize how far I've come!

2.11.10
2.11.10
Being a morning person, I particularly like sunrises, and I loved the way the sun was catching on all the snowbanks.

2.12.10

I LOVE popcorn. Like go to a movie just for the popcorn kind of love. Here is a huge batch of kettle corn I made for the opening ceremonies of the Olympics.
